Preschool
Help your child get a head start by registering for our district preschool program.
At BCSD, we offer preschool programming to in-district children who are four years old before September 1 of the current school year. We hold classes four days per week, Monday through Thursday, and we offer a nutritious breakfast and lunch each day, free of charge.
For more information about our program, please contact Tammy Alvarez, our preschool coordinator.
Our Program
Portions of our preschool program are funded through Arizona’s special education program, the First Things First grant, and the Department of Economic Services grants. Children who qualify for these programs may attend our Coyote Canyon program free of charge. The preschool programs at Diamondback and Sunrise are only for children who qualify for Title 1 assistance.
We screen all children and review income guidelines with families during the registration process to determine how to best meet each child’s educational needs. If your family does not qualify for either Title 1 or the First Things First grant, your child may still be able to attend Coyote Canyon preschool as a peer model. Peer models are typically-developing students who serve as peer models for our students identified with special needs. All peer models are full-pay students.
Weekly Supplies
Please do not send your child to school with toys, books, or stuffed animals from home. We have plenty of these items in our classrooms and would hate for your child’s special toy to get lost or damaged.
All preschool students need to provide a backpack with a full change of clothes, water bottle, and snack each day. Please ensure your child’s change of clothes are weather appropriate for the season and include underthings, socks, and shoes in addition to their uniform shirt and pants.
If your child is still in diapers, you must provide enough diapers and wipes for the week marked with your child’s name. We do not share wipes in our classrooms.
