Parental/Community Review Opportunity for New BCSD Math Intervention Curriculum – TouchMath

The Bullhead City School District is looking to adopt the TouchMath® Program for students who struggle with traditional math curriculum. It is an explicit, multisensory program designed to help students who have problems understanding key foundational math skills as well as abstract concepts. TouchMath provides resources for educational teams to assess, teach, report, and positively impact students.

BCSD’s grant-funded TouchMath program would be used for students needing what’s known as Tier 3 Intervention:

When Tier 3 Interventions are Appropriate

These supports are utilized when:

  • Students exhibit severe, persistent behavior or academic challenges that do not respond to Tier 2 small-group interventions and programs. Parents are encouraged to review the program and provide input before final governing board action to implement for the next school year.

Parents and members of the community may review samples of the TouchMath materials online. A short demonstration video is available to view. A public comment and review window is open through Monday, May 18.

You can visit the TouchMath website for more information. Any feedback may be directed to info@bcsd15.org. Please include “TouchMath” in the subject line.
