Preschool

Your child will get a positive start to learning at an early age by being part of our district preschool program.

At BCSD, we offer preschool programming to in-district children who are four years old before September 1 of the current school year. Classes are held four days a week: Monday through Thursday. We offer a nutritious breakfast and/or lunch each day, free of charge.

For more information about our program, please contact Tammy Alvarez, our preschool coordinator.

Our Program

Preschool is funded by either a Title 1 grant or special education.

Each child is screened at the office of Coyote Canyon to determine how to best meet each child’s educational needs.

Children who have developmental delays and qualify for special education services will attend the developmental preschool at Coyote Canyon School.

There are limited spots available for the Title 1 preschool classrooms that are on the campuses of Coyote Canyon School, Diamondback Elementary, and Sunrise Elementary School. To qualify for the Title 1 grant, your child must show a need for preschool, as well as meet the income requirements that are set by the State of Arizona.

Supplies

Each child needs to bring a backpack with a full change of clothes, a water bottle, and a small, healthy snack each day.

If your child is not toilet-trained, you must provide enough pull-ups and wipes each day for your child. Please label these items with your child’s name.

Toys, books, or stuffed animals are not allowed to be brought to school by a child. Our classrooms have incredible amounts of fun, engaging materials for the children to use while they are at school.
